BRETT MOEN

CANDIDATE FOR HILL COUNTY
COMMISSSIONER, DISTRICT 1
DEMOCRAT

Hello, my name is Brett Moen. I'm running for Hill County Commissioner because I've seen the direction that our county is headed, and I realize we need a change.

I want to bring accountability, representation, and common sense back to leadership. I believe that EVERYONE deserves representation in Hill County.

The infighting, lack of services, and a lack of transparency don't represent who we are as citizens of Hill County.

We deserve accountability for the tax dollars paid by the citizens of Hill County. Answers about expenditures and available funds are needed.

My Mission Statement:

I have a vision for a more unified and represented Hill County, and will make it a priority to ensure that ALL residents have a voice.

I will seek out grants and other funding sources to support the Senior Citizens centers across Hill County.

Securing grants and other funding to support the Hill County Fair Grounds will be one of my goals, along with restoring relationships with event managers.

Researching county park ownerships and tax records will be one of my projects, and securing sustainable funding will be one of my missions.

I will work to establish accountability for county road funding of materials and equipment, and will strive to implement the improvements that voters have approved.

I will focus on fostering trust between county employees and leadership.

I will work with fellow commissioners to build consensus and teamwork.

Seeking out alternative funding sources for county operations and programs will be a focus of mine if elected.

My Background:

I am a third-generation Montanan, born and raised in Havre.
I am a proud MSU-Bozeman alumni, and I graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
While in college, I worked several retail jobs, gaining experience with customer relations and service.
After obtaining my degree, I worked for various engineering firms regarding electrical power systems throughout Montana and the United States for nearly a decade.

In 2018, I returned to Havre to take care of the family farm and support my brother following his cancer diagnosis.
As time went on, I also became a Water Treatment Operator for the City of Havre and strived to maintain integrity in operations for three years.
I currently work for New Media Broadcasters, where I've gained on-air experience, and presently I am working as their broadcast engineer.

In addition to this, I am a member of the Hi-Line Amateur Radio Club, and currently serve as Secretery/Treasurer and Custodian,
bringing organizational experience to the table.
I am also involved with the East Butte Translator Association and am part of a site development plan for a new translator site just south of Havre
that will serve the eastern portion of Hill County.
